MotoGP Motegi
The MotoGP is really looking thin on the action these days. There are two guys out there up front, with one who pretty much has the championship in the bag, and the other riding the wheels of his bike to try until the end to win it. Pedrosa is pretty amazing these days, but other than the occasional slo mo shots of him there is not much action to watch.
In Moto2, Marquez decided to give us a present and forgot to put his bike in gear at the start. Looked pretty scary there at first, with the whole field passing within mms of him. Then he finally got the bike in gear, and the on-board footage of his first couple of corners has to be about the most amazing bit of riding I have ever seen!!! Fucking A!!! The kid is a monster, and made all the others look just plain stupid. Then there was the incident with Pol, basically falling over in the corner, yet somehow he managed to save it. I really have no idea how he did that, but I do think luck had something to do with it...
In Moto3, Cortese should take the title. But looking at ViƱales, he does remind me a bit of a young Rossi. The kid is fast, and has done some amazing shit this year. I think we can expect to see a lot more of him in the years to come. Cortese I think instead will end up being a bit like some of the other 125 winners we have seen in the past like Di Meglio etc., not bad riders but as they move up to the next class they just don't seem so special anymore...

Re: MotoGP Motegi
I caught some of this between getting dinner on the table, getting the boys to bed and waiting for the Korean GP.
The last lap of the GP3 was a hoot with I think 4 of the top 6 riders losing it as they all fought for the win.
Not only was Marquez' start amazing, throughout the race the way he would drift into the corners was really something. You'd think he's have no tires left after that but he'd consistently pitch the rear out turning into just about every right hand corner seemed to be working for him. He's definitely one to watch.

Actually sliding like that doesn't really use the tyres all that much. It does look pretty amazing though, and there are a number of other guys in the Moto2 that ride like that too.
But Marquez certainly is somebody to watch! He should be able to shake things up a bit in MotoGP next year, and it will be interesting to see what Lorenzo will say since Marquez is not afraid to rub fairings.
