MotoGP Lagua Seca Empty MotoGP Lagua Seca

It has been over two weeks without a single post on here. Good thing there was a MotoGP race yesterday then...

Any of you guys make it there? H8R? I always love watching racing at Laguna Seca, and some day I will make it there for a motorcycle race. I have witnessed Champ Cars charging down the Corkscrew, but would love to see a bike do it.

The race, like Sachsenring, was fairly open given that Pedrosa and Lorenzo are suffering. Bradl surprised me with his pole position, and the pace he had throughout the race was truly impressive. But the man of the day was obviously Marquez. His pass on Rossi was just insane, and the kid should stop by Las Vegas during the summer break with the luck he currently has. I know he had looked at the pass Rossi did on Stoner a couple of years ago, and knew it was possible to go in the inside there, but I think he just went a little bit too much on the inside! Don't forget Spies broke his rear suspension there last year.

Then his pass on Bradl was also nuts. He has this ability to launch himself for a pass that probably will not work out, and then somehow he gets the bike sorted and makes the corner. He has complete confidence in himself and his bike, and can almost walk on water.

Rossi was great as well, and managed another podium. Looking at Crutchlow down in 7th, the Yamaha was clearly not the bike to have at Laguna yesterday. But, Rossi got an excellent third, just holding off Bautista in the end.

Rossi's joke about that pass was rather good. He called out the guys at Ducati that busted his balls over the stoner pass.

I love the difference in attitude. Stoner sulked for years after Rossi passed him in '08, starting with looking pissed after the race and calling for some sort of penalty. Rossi instead laughs about it and embraces Marquez in the parc fermé.

He did then call out Suppo on it during the interview, who responded in kind saying it was payback! Fair enough.

As much as I respect Stoner for his riding talent, and he was truly awesome, his attitude was just wrong. He was not enjoying himself, which is clearly why he quit so soon as well. Rossi on the other hand loves it. He has accepted that he is not so young anymore, and realizes that especially with Marquez his "replacement" has shown up. I suspect he might win a race or two more, but no more championships, and I think he has totally come to terms with that.
