How about that Maverick?
Dang...
Maverick is fast. Blown away by Zarco as well.
First race of the year...not to shabby. Shit weather. But I think we all enjoy the variability that shitty breeds.
Cheers

Re: How about that Maverick?
Maverick did well. Rossi didn't do too badly considering his practice times.
So, what's everyone's consensus: Will Ducati be as good to Lorenzo as it was to Rossi?

Maverick has been a rider to follow since coming on the scene in Moto3. I am not at all surprised by his win now. Rossi did great coming back to the podium like he did.
Lorenzo and the Ducati.... I think he may have to say goodbye to the podium for a while.

Well...two for two. How about that Rossi? Sunday he always seems to be in the hunt.
Big change of fortune for the Repsol Honda's.
Bautista should get a medal!
Crazy Joe taking out Loenzo. Mid pack starts are dangerous...hope Lorenzo gets used to it.

Yeah, the HRC riders are also suffering from the softer Michelin. The media is making big noise that Rossi is complaining about it, but he is far from the only one. Nevertheless, he can still handle the pressure and deliver on race day.
Maverick is on a roll!!

Re: How about that Maverick?
So, Rossi is showing his age in practice sessions, but he's still an amazing racer.
Unfortunate turn of events for Maverick, but Rossi is keeping movistar Yamaha in the hunt.
Marquez loves that circuit, huh?

Re: How about that Maverick?
Rossi is a true racer. He will always come through on race day, and he just loves motorcycle racing. I am always amazed how he continues to find the motivation, as one could well imagine that somebody at his age and with such a long career would not find the will to go out there and race after a lackluster qualifying and testing. Not Rossi!
I'm really liking how well Zarco is doing. I thought it might be a fluke in Qatar, but he continues to be up there. As he showed in Austin he is not afraid to take it to the boss either! In Moto2 he was very solid and calculating, and it seems the big bikes are suiting him.

Yes, Zarco has been quite good. I hadn't followed the lower classes so I knew nothing of him before.
I'm starting to check out some Moto1 & 2 this year.
How about Loris Baz's save in Q1?

Indeed, Loris was impressive. I loved on his facebook page afterwards he showed a picture of his underwear to show they were still clean after that save! LOL!!
By the way, I think you meant Moto3 and Moto2. It is especially the Moto3 (smallest class) that I think is worth watching, as there you get a glimpse of the future stars as they are starting out.
Zarco was fighting for the title in Moto3 against Marquez. Then he went on eventually to Moto2, and has won the two last consecutive championships there. He's the real deal, and he has had to fight against the Dorna favoured Spaniards for some time in the smaller classes.
