I guess I found a use for this section!

Let me know what you think of the new look of the forum. I chose a colour setup which is in line with Shamu, and I liked the blue inserts as well. But I can easily change the whole look of the forum.

If you like, over the coming weeks, I can try a few different looks and maybe then run a poll to see what you guys think is the best. But for now I think this first one is okay, except for that I have a problem with the chatroom colours. It works as long as you change your text colour to something other than white.

I have noticed that in your profile, the default setup is for a notification to be sent to your email for any thread that you have posted in. This can quickly get annoying I think, so if you want to change it, go to preferences in your profile.

Did you bring over the old avatars somehow... and if not, how do we update?

I like darker colored forums. I'm generally on them early in the a.m or at night. Forums that are mostly white are just too frickin' bright and tend to annoy me.

You've done very well IMO Henrik!

thanks!

The avatars was each his own selection, and I have not brought them over. In your profile here you can add a link to an avatar you like, and if you want I can try to place your old avatar here.

Okay Cine, I brought your avatar over.

And H8, thanks for the compliment. I kinda like the darker look with the Shamu banner up top using artwork from JWK as well.

Late to the party but ...

Like H8 also prefer darker forums and all looking good bar one thing. When I'm looking at users names in the threads it's all looking a bit grey and people's names are a bit hard to pick out from the background. Is it possible to make them whiter (more like the whale status/other info below it)? Smile

And I mentioned elsewhere - but what's with the 100 year old ageism?! ROFL!

Yeah, I have tried to make the user names whiter, but with little success so far. It is a bit confusing setting the colours on the board, but I am sure I will get it right one day...

As to the 100 year old thing, I have no idea. I had not seen that before and will have to investigate.

Just a question, how are we positioned on this incarnation of the forum for mature material?

I'm only asking because I'd like to start a mature jokes thread and although the content is clean (in my view) it may be considered offensive by some sensitive person somewhere (let's lust say you wouldn't find it on disney.com).

Kitty threesomes are still allowed as long as one of them is not a DeadCat.

What about images? Here's a sample of a image that'd be deleted on the last forum.

Can we piss the google tracking cookies off?

It's not really a problem for me, but I hate that other internet users don't realise that when they visit about 85% of today’s websites, the google cookie reports their internet usage back to google inc. with a unique identifiable signature to be stored in a database for pretty much the rest of time.

This history can and will be given to any government that even hints at being interested in such data.

I have no idea how to do that DC.

I could make you admin though, and you can shop around and see what can be done. Wouldn't be bad to have a back-up admin in any case.
