World Rally!

This is the dramatic moment when co-driver Chris Patterson turned driver on Rally Sweden today.
Patterson, from Northern Ireland, was handed the keys to Solberg’s Citroen DS3 WRC after the Norwegian was prevented from driving.
Solberg was caught speeding on a public highway on Friday afternoon and was given 48 hours before he could no longer drive. The restriction also extended to the rally’s final stage.

Bringing this thread back up top too congratulate Loeb on his 8th consecutive title!!! Seriously, this guy is just simply extraordinary. I haven't done any research, but this must be an ultimate record in all motorsports history, no?

Amazing effort from Seb. Despite WRC not being at it's peak over the last few years, it's still an incredible effort. I think he won every Rally Germany except this year, 8 in a row I think it was?

'Ago' won 15 world championships, but they were two sets of 7 in a row (350 and 500).

So yep I think Loeb must have set a new record with 8 in a row.

amazing... little bit of a downer way to get it, but thats the way it goes when youre 8 in a row... wow... such a long time.
