MotoGP Indy!
Well I have my ticket to the show this weekend. I spent $150, and received a ticket that put me in an air conditioned suite looking over the track, fully stocked with food, and an open bar! I also forgot they have a grid walk and parking across the street. Now that is a hell of a bang for your buck for any sporting event. MotoGP is cheap enough where a family can take the kids to an event, and not get stiffed with a big bill.

Lucky bastard! That is seriously cheap, and you will get one hell of a show too.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to fly over to Indianapolis to go to a MotoGP race. It would be cheaper than going to a race in Europe and the access would be better. Maybe next year...

If you come don't eat the turkey legs. Greg had a few crew members go down on that one.

Spies on pole. Lorenzo is getting outclassed by a rookie on a slower bike.

That's pretty cool. On Friday Yamaha announces Ben will be replacing Vale on the works bike, and on Saturday he gets his first pole position. Did Yamaha give him a works bike a bit earlier?

Conspiracy theorists say yes...
But people at the track say no. They say you can hear Ben and Colin's bike making less rev's....beside the engine rules would kind of prevent it.

I was thinking the same thing. However we don't know if the team was supplied with other parts outside an engine.

Re: MotoGP Indy!
Moto2 class was wild to see. Having 40 bikes on the road is insane. I am still trying to figure out why that fuel tank exploded. I figured the tanks were contained better.
You could hear Ben's engine off a tad, and Pedrosa's pass was not stoppable. The Honda was just way to fast on that big straight. That torn puck on Hayden's knee was spooky. He was inches from some real damage, and managed to hang in there.
I saw Nicky at Ducati Island talking about his new 2 year deal. That was fun.
I have to say that the culture of bike racing is a ton of fun. I always see something fun, and not the typical redneck trailer trash wanting to see some nasty's knockers.

Re: MotoGP Indy!
RIP Peter Lenz.
*stunned*
This so f-ing sucks.
I did a bunch of tire swaps for Peter two years ago at a joint CCS/USGPRU race weekend. At the end of the weekend Peter came over to pay me and shake my hand for all of my work. He thanked me and called me sir....and I said to my wife who was pregnant at the time "I can only hope we have kid like that."
This sucks.
Godspeed Peter you won't ever be forgotten in my life time.

Re: MotoGP Indy!
So that is what happened during that race. I couldn't figure out why they aborted the start of the race for a rider who didn't make the grid. All we heard was that a rider was not going to make the race, and it was phrased as if it was a mechanical issue. We watched the race, and commented on how fast those kids ran.
Nobody mentioned it all day. I don't think the track told anyone. That unfortunately is the IMS policy. They won't confirm a death until after the event is over no matter how obvious it is.
