i figure im gonna go out to the extreme, as i have a plan in regards to Network storage. you can do so much with this sucker.... computer nerds delight.

im going to design and build a private network, and private shared library, as we have discussed before. bandwidth is going to be an issue, but storage wont be that's for sure.

gonna shop around for prices, they want $2500 down here in oz, but im going back overseas shortly so i will look abroad as well.

I bought the TS-439 Pro II last christmas, and it is a really good NAS. I put 1 TB disks in it, so running it in RAID5 gives me some 2.7TB of disk space available. Since I got my lan backbone now in GB speed, it just amazing how fast you can transfer files.

I am not sure the 839 is really worth it though. I find the price difference too big, and would rather get a 439 and then if you need more space later get a second one.

ture it's expensive, but i figure think ahead and go for the max available. i was going to run 2 x 4 in raid so it back's itself up, and i can upgrade it in steps.

im going to install a second dedicated line into the house for it as well, so my traffic is seperate to the NAS traffic.

i could host the website from it as well! (if i ever need to)

Well, it all sounds good, whatever it is, lol. ummm, storage space, I get it.
