Freedom is balanced by responsibility. If you want to have the choice to not have insurance then you should be able to show that you can afford medical treatment. I can live with idiots making that choice is they have a couple million in the bank at least.

Those arguments were musings from my father maybe 25 years ago. He was a wise man.
Until cigarettes, motorcycles and fast food are deemed illegal then an individual shouldn't have to pay more.

Well, we're already paying taxes like crazy for cigs, which goes to what, education, other stuff.
Henrik, here if they find out you lied on your insurance about smoking or anything else (and yes, they will find you) you would be denied coverage completely.

Yeah yeah...goes to show I am just a two wheeler! For me a BMW is a beemer. Still, I love that bimmer in Werner's picture.
Incidentally, in a way I am also a BMW driver since I drive a Mini Clubman. What's your car (other than that Lotus Europa you only told me about after we met you in Toronto!!!!!).

Sorry about the thread hijack...
I learned how to drive in a 316 E21. Good fun, except for on snow were it was simply awful. Rear wheel drive cars are fun...

It's pretty hard to get into trouble with the traction control systems they have on them these days, trust me, I try every time it snows. LOL.

Re: USA Helathcare
Hi friends.
I dont know how we can all discuss the problems with healthcare in the US and not touch the topic of lawyers and lawsuits when they are the reason healthcare is so expensive.
Any plan to address healthcare that does not address the issue of putting a limit on what a person can get paid for "pain and suffering" (disability is a different matter), is a ball-less plan IMHO.
That's where you need to begin.
I hate lawyers and politicians.
