1. september 11

3. i think DVD's were the biggest worldwide change. Video tape died in the 00's, and second to that would be digital cameras... infact we went digital for amost everything we use... photos, music, tv, movies

4. will get back to you on that one.

5. i would say the LOTR trilogy and the harry potter movies. star wars prequels were good, but i didnt like some of the elements of the movies.

6. the 10's will be the checkpoint of the human race. either we change the way we live, or we head down the path of self destruction. the west will lose influential grip on the world stage and i believe the world will split into 3 groups(western world as we know it, the 'alternative-coalition' of nations lead by china and russia and the 3rd world), which will fight for control of the world resources and finances. i see human migration multiply to levels we have never seen before, and the price of oil will hit mega all time highs.

Glendo- these are too big of scope questions for my pea brain to entertain right now.

I did spend the afternoon in the hospital with my mother, who will almost certainly not survive the next decade (she's 80). But she will probably not die this week, but I could be wrong.

Getting Married and having children!

Rechargeable lithium ion batterys for childrens toys!

1. What do you think was the biggest event of the 00's?
I would go with Glendo and say 9/11.

2. What were the biggest changes to your life in the 00's?
I guess I would say going to live in Singapore. It was a good experience on many levels, and ultimately led to us coming back and getting our home.

3. What was the biggest technological changes of the 00's?
Smart phones. I don't have one, don't want to have one, but it seems everything is about the phone today. By incorporating the power of portable computers in them, and giving them proper screens and access to countless applications they have become so much more than I could ever imagine from a phone. For me though, a phone should still be a phone and I hate the fact that mine even has a camera built in.

For me personally it has been using a computer for visual and audio media. I use a computer to watch TV, watch movies, listen to music and handle my photos.

4. Best music of the 00's?
There was such a thing?

5. Best movie of 00's?
LOTR was a breakthrough, and I suppose it would qualify. However, it was not my favourite one, particularly as it was so well done that it took away the imagination we need when reading a great book.

6. Your forecast for the 10's?
Indeed China will become a new world leader, joined by India, Russia and Brazil. Europe will remain reasonably strong, but will certainly not be a leader. We will finally see resources being spent in actually developing ecologically friendly energy solutions, as opposed to being spent to avoid such development. I suppose this is something I am really happy about, and it is way overdue! There will be other stockmarket crashes as greedy investors are yet again fooled by other greedy investors. However, I don't expect there to be a major shift in who actually has the wealth, other than that China will obviously gain more of it.

Oh, and ShamuCroaks will be around all through it, although our way of accesssing the forum may change...

1. what do you think was the biggest event of the 00's?

The theft of the american presidential election in 2000.
Because of it we had : 9/11, "war against terrorism", war in Afhansitan, War in Irak (to avenge his daddy), the Patriot Act, homeland security creation, subprimes crisis,paulson plan, federal recognition of creationism, global recesions, no action on Green house gas, sub-founding for aids campaign...
America got killed, broke and dumbed down (and asked for a second term...talk about BDSM)


2. what were the biggest changes in your life in the 00's?
Married, children, moved to europe, scubadiving and started to drive (too) fast again...

3. what was the biggest technological changes of the 00's?
Broadband.
It changed everything...from listening to movies, music, wifi Ipod....

4. best music of 00's?
DJs are the new musicians.
To name one: DJ champion and his G-Strings : 1 DJ + 7 live guitars.
Chill them out : fav. album of the decade.

5. best movie of 00's?
Got to be LOTR (although I haven't seen avatar yet) and Kill bill.

6. your forecast for the 10's?
Bigger, darker, meaner.

I took a dump like two years ago that I think is still causing problems for the sewer system

I realized I'm getting old and that I no longer heal, or have the endurance I used to....my god I'm still complaining about a dump I took two years ago.

3. what was the biggest technological changes of the 00's?

The way Newspaper and broadcast TV is dying....all info now seems to come from the Net

4. best music of 00's?

It's not a genre or album...I think....again....the net has made so many things more accessible like music to everyone that this decade caused a resurgence in music across the board.

5. best movie of 00's?

There was too many good movies. O brother, Wedding Crashers, no country for old men...the list is too long to just pick one.

6. your forecast for the 10's?

The Repubs will continue to go batshit crazy...is the only one I can think of.

So, I've seen Avatar 3d last night....

...and I've seen the future.

The story sux (Pocahontas anyone ?) but the movie is goregeous, beautiful...

And Burton is making Alice in wonderland (coming out in march) using the same technique...
