SPA 2009- predictions
Well, seeing as there wasn't even a proper Valencia thread, for good reason, I figured I'd start this one.
Will Luca drive?
Will Vettel finish? Will Button suck again? Will the sublime ascendancy of Rubens continue?
I feel that Kimi is the current king of Spa drivers and expect him to win on balls rather than the supremecy of the car.

The only way that boy wins is if they get him back on the mix of Jack Daniels and cold beer.

Re: SPA 2009- predictions
FISI ON POLE??? On fumes? This is probably his last chance to do anything of significance in F1, he better not squander it. I know that the Force India Ferrari has been great in straight line speed this year, but still hard to grasp the reality of it.
Kimi in 6th, he can still win. Jarno will be tough, but you know how he sometimes just fades back further and further.
Rubens to win? At Spa? I'm just having trouble wrapping my brain around that.
Button and the Macs- all sucking. Heikke's seat now officially up for grabs.

Re: SPA 2009- predictions
I don't think Fisi will get the Ferrari seat, if it's going to anyone it will probably be to Marc. I think Luca's run will end barring a miracle after tomorrow. I'm very sad for him. If it rains, Rubens will kick everyone's arse!

Wow, great race. Lots of passing. Webber is still a dirty prick, I counted 3 moves on Nak, which totally emasculated him for the rest of the race.
Ferrari 1st and last (of the runners), cya later Luca.

I love that track. Cheers to Fisi...I would have liked to see him win.
The post race interviews.... A Finn, a German, and a Bummed out Italian. Could there be a more boring interview. My god it was like they were all in detention at school....
It pissed me off.

Re: SPA 2009- predictions
YES!!!!!! Finally a win! :-D I am very happy for my team! Dimi was ridiculous in the press conference, where his facial expressions ranged from sleepy to mildly confused!lol! I also love that he doesn't understand the concept of SPRAYING champagne...he just seems to open the bottle and down the whole thing! I will miss him when he leaves us for rally, when he drives well, his awkwardness becomes acceptable and ammusing!lol!
As for Luca, he did try. I am just waiting for the announcement that he will not race in Monza. Poor Luca, he deserved better than this, but he got his chance and was sadly unable to make something out of it. I fear that his contract will not be renewed. I don't want him to go, I will be very sad to hear that news
As for Fisi, the rumors are flying aren't they? A competative Italian in a Ferrari at Monza would stir the media, but I still have a feeling it will be Marc.
Uncertain times...but at least we are competative again!

Re: SPA 2009- predictions
WOW - what a weekend...!
I couldn't predict squat, so I spread my bets and went for Lewis & Kimi, RBR & Brawn. And then it appears that I've risen to 74th in overall standing...!
And yet - fair play to FIF1 - they done the job...!
IMHO, FIF1 could have had Ferrari if their respective pitstops hadn't have been on top of eachother, and certainly if Kimi hadn't have used the run-off area as the track immediately after the start.
Curious - last year, Lewis / Mac got penalised at this track for gaining an advantage by allegedly using a run-off area to gain an advantage. And yet this year, Kimi gets no penalty. How queer...?
Re: Alonso - ban these "spinners" as BBC like to call them. Although spinners such as Takagi are obviously religious icons and should therefore never be banned...
Re: Fishy Fella - absolutely top drawer drive - and FANTASTIC to see not only a FIF1 in second, but that Giancarlo was disappointed to end-up in second place...! Reminds me of a certain Jenson Button, back in the good-old-days of the top of this season...!
Fishy in a Ferrari...? Nope - but I'd like to see Nico Hulkenberg in the Ferrari.

RDD- I think it's pretty certain that he will leave Ferrari shortly, maybe not for rally but I would definately not be suprised, rally seems to be where his passion lies.

Re: SPA 2009- predictions
Gelert, Kimi gained 3 places by going of the track at turn 1 and a further place on the turn where the crash occurred (Button also gained 4 places).
Different rules for Ferrari and the rest of the grid
As for force India, never attempted to put a move on Kimi, fairly boring race by both teams.

Soooo....
Force India are on the verge of Bankrupcy, their motor ho,e was seized and they haven't paid for the Banz engine...they get pole.
BMW is for sale...and Toyota is in trouble....they suddenly do very well....
That sport is not fixed.
No Sireeeee.

Well, that's what some people want to see, whether it is certain - that's a different story. Kimi himself said "I am too young to retire, if I didn't want to continue I wouldn't have signed for 2010". So WRC is not looking to be a likely option in the short term at least. The boy still wants to drive. He is doing OK I guess for an unmotivated washed out driver, win at Spa, not too shabby.

How could Force India even attempt a move on Kimi if he was using KERS in the two places where you could overtake? They were faster in the middle sector by a margin but S1 and S3 were covered by Ferrari.

Re: SPA 2009- predictions
Give it up Luca, from the dive:
Badoer, meanwhile, is pleading for one more chance, arguing that he could drive the Italian Grand Prix at Monza with his "eyes closed."
"If they're going to replace me it should be after Monza," the Italian is quoted as saying on Monday by the German news agency SID.
"If I would disappoint them (Ferrari) at Monza, I would be the first to say I should step aside," Badoer added.
