Can anyone tell me why Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace prize?????

For me, he is shaping up to be yet another "Uncle Tom", just like Mandela turned out to be. puke puke

His only acheivement is that he is not Bush...

But then again, nor am I.
where is my fuckin' Nobel ?

The irony is: Obama hears he has received the nobel for Peace the day Nasa exploded the first ever bomb on the moon...

What can I say, the peace price is the only Nobel price awarded by Norway. All the others are awarded by a Swedish committee.

Mind you, they have also given it to the likes of Begin, Peres, Rabin and Arafat. It really does not have anything to do with peace...

Thats the problem, it now has nothing to do with peace. Obama was nominated 8 days in his presidency. He hadn't even done a thing at that point, and hasn't since the.

Al gore won the award for climate change? I might disagree with Al, but if you are to give him anything it should be for something in science.

I think Rabin and Arafat was deserved, as there was a chance of peace with those two, unfortunately, Zionists in america did not want the type of peace Rabin was willing to negotiate on, the rest is history. puke puke

And while bricks are being thrown at Norway, I notice it was the Swiss authorities who contacted the americans over Polanski visiting their country and asking about the validity of the arrest warrant. There is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. puke puke

I'd like to make one point.

Obama had nothing to do with asking for or voting for the award.

Yet there are those who "blame" him for getting the award.

Yes, and the whole thing has become a great distraction as a result. It is really unfortunate that blind partisanship seeks to polarize even this.

Whether warranted, earned, or not it is a very high profile sign that increasing numbers of the international community once again have some hope that the US will not invade and occupy more sovereign nations... If you think about that, that does equal creating peace: we are seeking diplomacy instead of "Bomb, bomb, bomb--Bomb, bomb, Iran"...

The award decision was made 12 days his moving into the White House, 9 month down the line "increasing numbers of the international community" can see that he is no different to any previous president, and will do whatever the power brokers who pull the strings in america say.

America has got a man who will be just another Tony Bliar, in other words, a man willing to lie and deceive to get in power, then kiss the ass of all the people the voting public thought he would stand up too.

For your sake, and others american on this site, I hope he makes your life better, but for people outside america who hoped for peace (especially in Palestine) I'm afraid we are destined to have yet more disappointment from the american leadership. Sad Sad

DB, Rome wasn't built in a day.

And it wasn't the American Zionists who were the problem, IIRC it was an Israeli. Still, a zionist.

You know, we have a city here in IL that's called Zion. It's very odd.

Oh.
Don't get me wrong i don't blame him for that.
...and he's full of good intentions...

But then again, so was Bill Clinton (and what a bitch he turned out to be)....

Time will tell...
But today, he doesn't deserve any of it (yet).

DB,
From a purely capitalist point of view, I makes sense israel has some retrun on its investments...
If Palestinians want to be heard, let THEM buy a few elections: seems to me there's enough money in Jordan, SaudiArabia etc...
But they'd rather fuck each other...
Say what you will about the great Zionist evil master plan, but those people (somewhat) win points on "team spirit"...
I recently came to the realisation that Israel wouldn't be winning by such a huge margin, if the local Arabs (not necessarly muslims) didn't score so often in there own goals.

As was said on The Daily Show Voyeur, Voyeur, that is all you have got Razz Razz

Al Fattah are as corrupt as the Israeli Government is Genocidal. As for American Zionists, they have had undue influence in america since the early 1900's and total dominance sine the 1950's. puke

obama does not deserve the nobel award nor should be blamed for being this years awardee.

time will tell if he will be a good president.

meanwhile, here is something to chill you guys out...

BARACK OBAMA was invited to address a major gathering of American Indian Nation two weeks ago in upstate New York. He spoke for almost an hour on his future plans for increasing every Native American's present standard of living, since he has become President.

He referred to his career as a Senator, how he had signed 'YES' for every Indian issue that came to his desk for approval.

Although Obama was vague on details of his plan, he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his 'red sisters and brothers'.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented Obama with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name - "Walking Eagle". The proud President then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds.

A news reporter later inquired to a group of chiefs as to how they selected the new name they gave to the President.

They explained that "Walking Eagle" is name given to a bird so full of s^^t it can no longer fly.

As you might know after 6 months in office as President it is customary for
the last president to send a note of congratulations to the new one.
Yesterday Obama received the customary note from President Bush. However,
when he opened the note he was sure it must be in some secret code that he
was unaware of since it read: 370H-SSV-0773H.
This really troubled Obama as he had always thought, as well as his beloved
followers, just how dumb the former President Bush was perceived to have
been. He first took the note to his beautiful (?) wife. She was unable to
decipher it. He then called his VP and he was of course unable to decode
the message. He then called the Chief of Staff and the head of the Secret
Service and all were unable to determine the meaning of the note. He even
checked with the Speaker of the House who of course just blinked and smiled.
There was complete panic in the oval office. A special emergency meeting
was called by the staff. All branches of the military, Counter
Intelligence, CIA, FBI were called in and the best minds were unable to
crack the code. Finally after a sleepless night, a now humbled man, Obama
picked up the phone and called the former President and asked him the
meaning of the the note.
President Bush just chuckled and said to Obama. . . "Partner. .. . You are
holding the note upside down."

hurtful humor creates pain and distance.
