Takagi Pilgrimage 2018

Post by Henrik on Mon May 07 2018, 17:07

Yes, we are on our annual Tagaki pilgrimage in Japan!

Just got back to the hotel after an outstanding concert with Crown the Empire and Coldrain. Was an amazing concert in a small venue in Tokyo. We were able to get some VIP access through a friend, and made the most of it. Even got to meet two members from Crown the Empire afterwards.

Tomorrow it is on to Nagoya, and on Friday we will be visiting Suzuka among other things.

This was Tokyo 2014.  Bumped into each other at the Shinjuku Station.

Hi to Myriam!  Have fun!

(Will be in Italy this June.  Japan-- maybe November or December)

Good memories indeed ilgs!! Let us know when you are in Italy in June as it is really not so far from Geneva...

On Monday we were able to attend a rock concert in Tokyo with Crown the Empire and the Japanese band Coldrain. It was amazing (and loud!!!). We had been able to get tickets through our friend Midori Moriwaki (daughter of founder of Moriwaki engineering, and current director). One of her staff members, Miki, met us before the concert, and we went together with him and had a blast!!

Today we went to Suzuka and went first to the Moriwaki Engineering factory. We were then privileged to have a tour of their little museum and then a grand tour of the Suzuka circuit. It was really great to see one of the remaining proper tracks, and the installation there is really nice.

Finally, back at the Moriwaki factory they arranged for us to see their very special café racer of the Honda CB1100. My current bike is a CB1100, although it looks nothing like this stunning beauty. A totally awesome and unique bike.

Fantastic track, looks like a great visit. I bet there was some very good sushi consumed as well. That CB1100 looks perfect. And Henrik you look younger than you did years ago.

We did consume a certain amount of delicious sushi, as well as many other Japanese delicacies!

Thanks for the age comment! For me, once past the 50 mark, who cares what age you are really. I just feel good and am enjoying life, and that is what counts!
