Philip Island
Holy crap what a MotoGP race today!!! Seriously, one of the most intense races I have ever seen around the best track in the world. If you are going to watch one race this year, then this should be it.

Yes, that was one hell of a race. Props to all of the top 7, and especially the top 4. Marquez timed the end perfectly, or maybe he just got lucky but he made it stick.
The pass Inanone made on Rossi and Marquez was quite a piece of work too.
All of it. It was just full blown racing from flag to flag.

It's interesting as Iannone really took a page out of Rossi's book there. I don't know if you have read it, but the opening chapter is at Philip Island, and Rossi goes for the inside at MG to pass for the win. This was at the time something new, and you could see yesterday Rossi trying that a number of times. In fact, when Iannone took the two of them, Rossi had already gone for Marquez there but then went a bit too wide. Iannone was simply amazing.

Re: Philip Island
I've now watched the race 3 times.
Incredible, absolutely incredible.
Iannone is my new hero. Rossi kept an acceptable lead to win the title. Jorge got beat which always makes me happy, and Marquez finally got some points at PI in the top class.
Poor Maverick Vinales...Suzuki needs to get that lad some HP.
I'm exhausted.

Re: Philip Island
Marquez topped the timesheets all weekend. I'm thinking Lorenzo overcooked his tires trying to get away at the front.
I really got a kick out of some footage at the end of Q2 when Lorenzo was obviously pissed off at Iannone for following him during qualifying runs and just topping him twice. He doesn't do the pressure well.
And then you have Rossi, Marquez and Iannone all congratulating each other on the cool down lap and a fierce battle.
Rossi didn't have the pace of the others all weekend. The last two races should be good as well.

Re: Philip Island
Moto3 was a special race while MotoGP was smiply mega.
I was sat just before Stoner Corner (turn 3) for race day, absolutely amazing. For those who haven't been to Phillip Island before, it's an excellent track for viewing. I was able to see the end of the start/finish straight and follow the bikes through turns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (disappear from view for a second or two) then through 8, then disappear from view.

Yeah Playlife....shut up!
Having been down there so many times, that was one race I would have wanted to see. Well at least I was there in 2003 when Rossi needed to make up a 10 second penalty to win....
