I read about that yesterday as well.

Watched this video the other day as well. Got me all nostalgic...

Cool little video. I always liked Mika. He seems like a really humble guy.

And as much as any year never turned out to be DC's year, Him flipping the bird the M$ while passing around the outside at Magne Cours is an iconic moment of that era...

So with all of the tech changes this year, do you think you might watch a race or two Henrick?

I doubt very much I will watch a whole race. I might catch a part of a race on occasion, but it just doesn't interest me. Actually seeing Mika in that video really made me miss those days.

On the other hand, I have started re-watching all my old season review videos. After seeing Rush, I really wanted to have a look again at some footage from the 70's, and I got hooked again. Started with 1975, and am now up to 1981. I so miss those days, and I am sort of re-discovering some aspects I had forgotten. One driver that surprised me was Jabouille, I really didn't remember him being as good as he actually was.

Oh, and seeing the cars all go sliding the rear out in almost every corner in Monaco!!!

I need to pull out my F1 Season disks again. I did rip all the ones DC had uploaded in the old FTP system.

Any word from DC in the last few years?

See, there I go getting nostalgic and stuff.

Deadcat's last visit on here was December 2010, and I have not heard from him outside of the forum.

Nothing to do with F1, but just came across this. Love this movie. I never realized how great the soundtrack is too. I've got to find a copy...

One of the greatest car racing movies of all time, and also what got me hooked on racing as a kid. Seeing it for the first time way back then something clicked for me. I am a huge fan of McQueen in general, and of Le Mans in particular.

I saw it in theaters when it came out, and had been waiting for it because of reporting in Car & Driver and other mags. Don't you just love those wide low 917s getting sideways with those screaming flat 12s?

The Movie Grand Prix is also great, but Le Mans is start to finish 12 cylinder engines so even without the music and soundtrack is awesome.

Meanwhile, and a'hem...back on topic...  Smile

Eric Boullier has resigned from Lotus with immediate effect;
Whitmarsh hasn't been seen at McLaren Press Conferences since Ron's coup;
And the word is that Boullier will be Mac's new Team Principal for 2014...

With Lotus being the only team not be at the first Practice Session this year, and now with Boullier leaving - and I wonder if Hulkenberg has actually had a lucky escape in not being signed by Lotus for this season...?

Definitely.
And it was probably the reason why he didn't opt for them. Low on funds, loss of 70 staff in 2013 including some key personnel..and this was before the Boullier story. Now they have Gerard Lopez holding the reigns - what does he know about F1? Very little apparently.
