24 Hours of Le Mans
There was not only motorcycle racing this weekend, but we also had the Le Mans. I always like to follow it, even though I will not be sitting in front of the TV for 24 hours straight. One of the channels I get here actually does provide a non-stop coverage of the race, and it is nice to check in there once in a while throughout the race, and also for the start and finish.
I particularly love the look of those cars. The Audi, Porsche and Toyota are in my view simply stunning, and so much more better looking than the F1s of today. They are also blindingly fast, with handling to match. It would actually be interesting to compare the track times between say one of those Toyotas and an F1 car just to see how close they actually are. Another thing that is fun is to see the driver names scroll by, and you realize how many of them you actually know for having made appearances in F1, A1 etc.
This year was the return of Porsche, and they obviously had high hopes of winning it with their 919. Unfortunately that was not to be. Toyota yet again hoped to take their first win, and with the pole position they had shown that they were fast. Mind you, they have been favorites to win a number of times over the years, yet never quite making it. Well, this year they only managed third place being beaten by two Audis. For most of the race it did look like the Toyota, or perhaps the Porsche, would take it since the Audis were just a little bit behind, but it is a 24 hour race and you need to be there at the end. 5th straight win for Audi, and with the exception of the Peugeot winning in 2009 they have won every single race since 2000 (yes the Bentley in 2003 was really only a rebadged Audi). That is some serious domination there!!!

Webber's car falls apart near the end, a familiar story...!
I am running on about 3 hours sleep per night for the last 9 days, what with the WC, F1, MotoGP and LM. Struggling to keep up!
