MotoGP Assen
As is customary, Assen is held on a Saturday. I had planned to go for a long ride myself today, and so figured I might watch the races this evening. Well, as it turns out, it was raining this morning, and the rain has just kept falling. The thermometer has just managed to get to 12°C, and it is 29 June!!!!!!! Aaargh!
So, instead I ended up watching the MotoGP race live (as well as the Moto3 race). What can I say?
He's back!!!!!! Rossi managed to finally get back on the top step after those two years on the Ducati. His last win was Sepang 2010, so it has been a while.
Also, Lorenzo was heroic. On Thursday he crashed, breaking his collar bone. He flew down to Barcelona and was operated, got back last night. This morning he was on the warm-up, and went on to race. Having looked very strong early in the race, it was only natural that he would fade a bit in the end. Still, he managed an incredible 5th place, but he must have been in agony. His effort was simply incredible.

Re: MotoGP Assen
Vale looks to have figured out what was wrong with the bike.
As for Lorenzo, I might not like the guy, but he pulled that out like a trooper. Poor guy was in tears after that. I was shocked he didn't vomit from the pain.

Actually I was thinking that with Lorenzo breaking his collar bone on Thursday, Yamaha decided to Rossi his bike for the race...
Jokes aside, it does seem like he figured something out while testing in Aragon, and looking at how he would go into the corners he clearly has the confidence in the front of the bike back.

A top ride from Rossi, it's nice to know that he's still capable of riding like that when he has a bike he's happy with.
And yeh, Lorenzo, what a champ...amazing.
