2013 opener: Australian GP
What a buzz kill. Rain 15 minutes into P3 and the track clears... Any predictions for the grid and the race?

last week in Melbourne it was 35-40c degrees every day, clear blue skies and warm nights.. first rain in a month and it's on GP weekend.
i'll hold off on predictions until next race.

Although I'm disappointed with the qualifying delay, I'm now wondering if the energy spent to get to the front of the grid will have an adverse effect on race performance. That's a lot for one day.

well, from the track:
McLaren... what the????
Ferrari - big improvement
Sutil - welcome back
RBR - needs to teach webber how to start races
Webber - needs to learn how to start races
i didnt plan on going because all the good seats were sold out, but when they postponed Q2 and Q3 until sunday morning in couldnt help myself.. Qualy and a race all in one day! Found myself a good little spot on turn 4, right next to where Rosberg retired his car.. he was 4metres from me.
would of loved to of seen some shamuists there... oh well next time

I suspect that you saw an epic race, Glendo.
I certainly did!
Webber: His Launch Software was buggered during the Parade Lap, so he / RBR Engineers couldn't set a clutch bite-point or revs. Plus, he didn't have KERS for the first 10+ laps. Therefore not really his fault, even if he is the Master of the Duff Getaway.
Grosjean: I was a bit hard on him chez-moi during the race; turns out that he only got his car updates on Saturday morning, and so only had 2 -3 dry laps in which to sort out his set-up. Kimi had had all of his updates fitted throughout all of FP1 & FP2 on the Friday.
Mac are f*cked for at least the first three races.
Force India owe Sutil an apology - 8 laps too early on the Super-Softs.
Should have left the change to the penultimate lap.
And Ferrari: Gotta agree Glendo, massively improved start to the season compared to how they usually start their seasons.
Although Situation-Normal in splitting the strategy and giving Massa the shitty one.
Finally, Lewis had the measure of Nico in the dry. But Nico was 1+ seconds faster in the wet! Weird...
This all augurs well for another stellar season IMHO.

Re: 2013 opener: Australian GP
Well that was a crazy weekend.
Sorry to glendo we couldn't catch up, Saturday was a nightmare and Sunday didn't fair much better. My (elderly) dad wasn't feeling too well so spent the best portion of Sunday looking after him, turns out he got a bout of food poisoning (probably from the night before at some dingy take away place we ate at on the way back from the circuit).
All good now, but what a mess of a couple of weeks. Missed most of Malaysia (best man at a wedding) and then it was my turn to become ill, spending a week at home off work! Argh!
Back to the race.
I still haven't watched it on TV, in fact I didn't even realise Sutil was leading for as long as he did until I read it somewhere. Surprised to see Kimi win that easily (seemingly) and the RBRs destroy their tyres.
