Re: 2012 Launches
Nice looking bit of kit although it will be different by the 7th of February. Those are not the actual front nose/wing, rear wing and undertray components that will appear at Albert Park (or probably test). I think it was Paddy who said that.
I liked the L-shaped sidepods from the 26, I guess they don't fit the EBD banned regs.

The new Mac still isn't as tidy as the RB7 was, that's a little cause for concern.

Re: 2012 Launches
The L-shaped side-pods were all about combining airflow with the exhaust gases to the blown diffuser. They were a hangover from the Octopus Exhaust System that was stillborn, but allegedly worked with the cribbed RBR design.
But I agree - these 2012 side-pods are much easier to emulate with Lego than last year's design...
The RB7 was a tidy package - but can't wait to see the RB-next-one (8?) in light of the new regs.
Whether baldy has surpassed himself again remains to be seen.

Dear Mr. Newey,
Please could you come up with a winning design that doesn't involve an ugly stepped-nose.
Then all of the other teams will copy you, and we can get rid of these abhorrences.
Thanks,
Gelert. (age 13)

What's up with that nose one these cars? that's hideous.
I was just looking at the calendar and thinking I may have to make plans for Austin in November. I think I have a place to flop there...

At least Mclaren managed to make a somewhat normal looking nose under the regulations. I really wonder how those ugly noses provide an advantage.
What's next? A comeback of the Eifelland with the teatray?

Given the shape of the step on both the Ferrari and the Force India I'm sure there's a significant downforce added right over the front suspension.

Re: 2012 Launches
Gary Anderson attempts to explain. I hope the Mac theory is correct and fast as I'd hate to see on of these fugly cars dominate!

Saw that yesterday DS - a good slant, but I felt that Anderson was dissing concepts for the sake of it.
It's not like GA was ever A. Newey.
This ole boy Craig Scarborough seems to know a thing or ten about stuff.
Check-out his take on the new Mac:

Thank you for that picture Playlife. Now we just need a good picture of an Eagle Weslake as well to forget about this year's horrors....
By the way, can somebody explain to me about the Lotus team. I thought that Team Lotus became Caterham, but there is still anopther team Lotus now?

I like the matte black finish on the Sauber. There should be more matte colours.
