Roehr 1250SC
Okay H8R, help me out here. I have been reading about the first American "superbike" and I just don't get it. For starters, why would you even want to make a superbike with a cruiser engine, be it a powerful cruiser engine? To get power up, they have supercharged it giving 180hp, but then European manufacturers are getting similar power from twins that are normally aspirated. Why?
It weighs in at around 200kg dry. A superbike in 2009?
And finally, it is to cost $42'000! Seriously, what are they thinking?

Oh, I would have thought this bike was much talked about over there. Here is a link to a first test ride of the bike: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/16/4382/Motorcycle-Article/2010-Roehr-1250SC-First-Ride.aspx

It's no wonder I never heard of it after reading the article.
Like DMG/AMA...please keep it away from me.

Nice, but why the Aprilia V 2 engine with 75hp? Hell, with a chassis like that, why not at least put in something like a Ducati 1198 engine in it? Or even better, the RSV4 engine!

Re: Roehr 1250SC
As concepts go I really like this French effort. Initially called the Tucson BT550, then changed to Roadson BT550 because Hyundai did not appreciate the name, this is a really light track bike with the Aprilia V2 550 engine. It is supposed to cost something like $ 15'000 and I think would be a blast.

Here is another really nice track bike. This is a German built chassis using the Rotax 990cc that is in the Aprilia RSV. Pretty nice looking!

Who's the fat guy sitting on the bike? I didn't know they made leathers that big.
I can see the Marchesini wheels, and Brembo monoblocks...The forks have thrown me though.
