Young Drivers
Of the last 2 years, I'm liking the looks of:
Valtteri Bottas
Kevin Ceccon
Jean-Eric Vergne
I think Charles Pic and Esteban Gutierrez are talented, but I wouldn't bet on them yet myself.
I'm not convinced thus far by any of Dani Clos (apparently going for a 2012 HRT seat), Jules Bianchi, Johnny Cecotto Jr or Jan Charouz.
Of course, lower formulae talent doesn't necessarily translate into F1 talent.

Re: Young Drivers
Rob Wickens, beat Vergne in the same team to the WSR title this year, and without the drinks company money.

Of course, totally forget Rob Wickens! He had some good insight when he commentated alongside Crofty in one of the practice sessions (I think it was India FP1). Not just talented, but had the smarts about him too.

Re: Young Drivers
Sam Bird - without all of the mechanicals, he should have featured on your radar IMHO.

Yeh Sam Bird was impressive in F3 and had some excellent drives in GP2 (his mesmerising drive at Barce sticks in my mind), and although he improved his consistency this year, it seemed he lost a little of his speed.

Re: Young Drivers
Good call - he's seriously improved his performance since I first saw him kicking about a couple of years ago...World Series by Renault or F3...? Can't remember.TopContender wrote:Alexander Rossi, he will be in GP2 next year.
Jeez - might even have been the first GP3 season...?
