Football non Yankee
I got a question. Is it common for players from a relagated team to be released? So if everton were to drop down would you see the better player released, sold , or traded? I would expect players to have clauses stating they could never drop down.

Many players have a clause in their contract saying they can leave if a bigger club is interested in them, or if the club is relegated.
When a team is relegated (especially from the Premiership in England) it causes a big problem for the club, as many of their players would be on a salary that is untenable with the income received in a lower league.
Player have set term contract and, at the end of that time (4 years average) they can leave for free, which is why most clubs offer their player a renewed contract 18 months or so before their current contract runs out. If the player does not want to sign a contract extension, most clubs will try to sell the said player before he can walk away from the club for free.
Also, many players have a clause inserted into their contracts (by the selling club) that a percentage of any increase in the transfer value of the player, will be given to the selling club, if that player is later sold on by the purchasing club (Millwall have just such a clause inserted into Tim Cahill's contract, 25% I think) .

And a very stylish performance it was, 8 games, 8 wins, and the players proud to wear the shirt, as it should be.

Beckham does not join AC until January, I'm looking forward to seeing Victimpool getting knocked out in the first round.

Soccer should have a "Monday Night Football" game every week like we do for the NFL. Just put 2 Champions league teams in the mix and watch the fun.

Yep, and I believe my former employer must have a new client today. That Swedish referee must have gotten a nice bonus from the French, and in need of some financial advise.
