Ferrari in another reschuffle!
Another man bites the dust. It looks like Aldo Costa was given a window seat.
“Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro announces that, as from today, Aldo Costa relinquishes his current position as technical director to take on new responsibilities within the company,” Ferrari said in a statement.
“At the same time, the technical activity has been restructured in three areas: director for the chassis side is Pat Fry, production is in the hands of Corrado Lanzone, while engine and electronics continues with Luca Marmorini.
“All three report directly to the team principal, Stefano Domenicali.”
Italian Costa has been with Ferrari since 1995 and, after succeeding the hugely successful Rory Byrne as the team’s chief designer mid-way through the last decade, took on the technical director post formerly held by Ross Brawn at the end of 2007, Ferrari’s last drivers’ championship-winning year.
His departure from that position comes little more than four months after fellow team stalwart Chris Dyer was replaced by ex-McLaren man Fry as head of race track engineering.
Dyer was seen to pay the price for the pit-wall error at the 2010 season finale in Abu Dhabi that scuppered Alonso’s attempts to win the drivers’ title.

I thought they "had" to win every year? Is this year more important?

Yeah they haven't won in a few years, and the car has sucked.
