Race thread- nice to see Vettel not on pole. Ferrari 4th, allright. Williams in the top 10 also a good thing.

No predictions... er... Webber will outdrive himself and Vettel will take this one too.

I'm really slacking on my race thread starter duties... Thanks for covering for me gueuze.

McLaren and Ferrari are still a second off Webber's qualy pace. That is bad considering Vettel has KERS problems. Here comes a boring race.

Pfft...! No comment...!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch - Seb with NO KERS only 2 tenths behind Mark...! S'trewth mate.

However, if Seb can't get his KERS working for the start, he'll be swamped by Mac and Nando before turn 1 - it's a long drag to the first corner at this track.

Lewis flat-spotting his front left might cause him an issue, even if they do manage to re=balance the wheel overnight. He could be the first one in for new tyres - lap 10?

MS starting on Primes...? That could be a good call, or a massive disaster.

All-in-all, those who saved a set of new Options may reap the rewards in the dying laps.

And watch for Nando's race-pace being better than the Ferrari qually pace - banned rear wing design or not, they're still fast.

Aaah, Carol Cleveland and all her o-so-naughty bits festooned on the center stage of the Old Baily. Yum.

Might have to subject myself to the "comfy chair" to endure the race.

And then there's this.....

and this-

"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"...

Well, as usual I was trying to sleep instead of watching the race, but from the results It looks like my prediction was accurate.

So, how was the race?

Red bull won with a gimped car. Alonso lead the race aftervthe fist stop and still ended up lap down. Hammy did what he could but could only get 2nd

Wow, today's race was a snoozefest. Looks like the Championship is over unless RBR fall right back in Britain with the EBD ban.

Alonso was outstanding today, he always seems to find a little more in front of his home crowd. The Ferrari was brilliant off the start, great traction, Massa should probably have finished 4th. Too much tyre management today for my taste.

More so, the ariel views show almost no grandstands or spectators, a lifeless piste. I guess the ?TV money is enough for Bernie. Yawn.

Shame Alonso couldn't get past Webber earlier because Alonso was as fast as Vettel if not a touch quicker going from the laptimes when he was in free air.

On the harder tyres though, Ferrari lost so much time. Thankfully they had mediums 'only' instead of the solid hards where they were seconds per lap slower.

If the tyre allocation is Soft/Super-Soft then Ferrari are definitely on par with RBR in race trim, that's very clear.

However as da Silva alluded to, things may all change come Silverstone next week...
