Malaysia? maybe a thread for a race?
Looks like there's going to be some rain. Any thoughts on this one?

Well, looking at Free Practice this morning, I think that the grass could probably use the rain.eso wrote:Looks like there's going to be some rain. Any thoughts on this one?
The Hardy Perennials looked very healthy though.

Red Bull. As long as those wings are flexing they'll be winning.
Rain should favour Lewis, he is afterall the next coming of Senna, right Dani.

Front suspension blowouts on 2 cars in FP1. Hmmmm. HRT and 107%.
Rain- never a bad thing.

Well that qualy proved 2 things.
1. schumi has lost it.
2. The Ferrari is slow, and Alonso's face showed it.

Well, since we've got a birthday party for a 2 year old today I opted out of staying up for the race: did I miss any action?
And the changes I made to my team screwed me. I got rid of Heidfeld... Oh well.

Well I watched the first half of the race, it was quite good. Fell asleep and woke to see the poduim ceremony. Subsequent reading says that the 2nd half was a good watch as well. Oh well (quote from eso)
Renault- good show, unless Petrov's steering column issues are indicitave of bigger issues with the car.
Vettel- perfect. Webbo- bad kers? Does RBR have the Ferrari equivalent of a Reubens button?
JB- well done.
Alonso/Hamilton- angry spoiled boys.

Overall it was an exciting race at least...but so painful!!! At least Ferrari showed that they can be competitive during a race even though we made a few mistakes. I cannot believe those post race penalties!!!

I am still confused with Alonso's penalty. I think it was a bit over the top.

Re: Malaysia? maybe a thread for a race?
Both penalties are ridiculous. God forbid the drivers should race.
RBR really struggling with KERS, problems for both Webster and Vettel. Hamilton was lack lustre, really struggling to keep his tyres alive. Button as expected managed them very well and was only 6 odd seconds from Sebastian in the last stint.
Great result for Renault with a fantastic drive from former Pirelli test driver Heidfeld. That steering column failure on Petrov's car was scary, thankfully he wasn't going any quicker.
A lost Ferrari podium from a mistake by Fernando, shame as they have got race pace.

Re: Malaysia? maybe a thread for a race?
redbull look to be tidying up all the politics early this season... nice big gap to vettel then they might release webber...
ferrari... fail.... w00h00!
jensen to kick lewis' arse this year... that kid is too hard on these pirellis...
renault are doing great... bobby wouldve had button and kept vettel honest...
10/10 for petrov... for triggering a meme frenzy
unlucky perez... some fantastic passing.... aswell as diresta, awesome job smashing sutils face like that, along with force india starting to find a gear... and kobayashi, as always, great passing...
now, about that f1manager thingy... ... made the switch to heidfeld... thanks for coming petrov... and i was 0.5 off the qual time again this week ... i cant believe i was the only with petrov in week 1 that went for heidfeld... theyll have no more money they i do now, and if heidlfeld goes on with it as i suspect, all i have to fear are the guys that cash up on the qual time, or a good result from toro rosso, or if both petrov and heidfeld do well together for those that have all renault picks... otherwise its gonna take a while before more of the top stuff opens up.

Great post, Reg! Picture is awesome. Now that Kimi is going to NASCAR, Petrov is giving Motocross a go? Cool.

Re: Malaysia? maybe a thread for a race?
MMmmm...you say that...but I've just cashed-in my F1Manager money at Harrods, replaced my knackered old Moulinex Magichef, and re-bought Millwall FC...Revs wrote:now, about that f1manager thingy... ... made the switch to heidfeld... thanks for coming petrov... and i was 0.5 off the qual time again this week ... i cant believe i was the only with petrov in week 1 that went for heidfeld... theyll have no more money they i do now, and if heidlfeld goes on with it as i suspect, all i have to fear are the guys that cash up on the qual time, or a good result from toro rosso, or if both petrov and heidfeld do well together for those that have all renault picks... otherwise its gonna take a while before more of the top stuff opens up.
BASTARD! - I bottled-it on Heidfeld / ole Beardy, as I didn't reckon he had it in him...! But WHAT a FLYING start for those Renaults eh...!
Fair play to you though Revs, for having the cojones...
BTW: I've just emailed J@rno, asking him to PM "Paddy" and "Slartibartfast's Eleven" to contact me, with a view to joining us...hope that that is OK?
