For a Friend

One of my best friends from school (yeah I know, that was a long time ago!!) is an incredible musician. When I first got to know him, over thirty years ago, he had never touched an instrument. In high school, we were getting very interested in the music scene, and a number of us really wanted to become rock stars like our heroes. Some, like me, was totally incapable of playing an instrument, while some suddenly discovered a hidden talent. My friend , Annas, got an electric guitar from his dad, and playing by ear was able to imitate the best guitar players of the time. Very quickly he would play a perfect "Europa" that made you believe that Carlos Santana was in the room. I think in all we were some twenty guys that started getting a bit serious about playing (well, since I was incapable of playing, but had a decent ear, I would become the “official” sound engineer for the various high school bands) and all were in awe of my friends obvious talent.

After school, we all went our separate ways, and having been in an international school in Geneva that meant all over the world. Annas ended up in Vienna, and having discovered a passion for flamenco guitar he would spend much of his free time practicing this difficult art. Eventually he ended up in Long Beach some twenty years ago, and has been there since trying to get his music career off the ground.

He now goes by the name of Michael Heart, and he just posted these bio videos on youtube. I thought I would share them as he really deserves to be seen by others.
