So Furious! Empty So Furious!

That race was the biggest joke in a while. First of all that safety car...granted I didn't see it on camera (I really hope they will have something like that available to view later) but somehow we managed to loose out and if the team says it was because Lewis was doing something dodgy, I am inclined to believe them! If indeed he did what I think he definately would do without hesitation, I would say a much harshed penalty than a drive-through is in order! This safety car ruined our race and maybe our championship. The car was looking great and after the first round of pitstops it would have really come into its own. Today hurts the most because the world was not able to see how much work the team put into the F10, we were unable to show our potential. If having my teams podium ripped away irritated me the joke that the post-race stewards intervention is going to be will infuriorate me! 9 cars under investigation will probably get 20-30 seconds added to their times. Seriously?! If this was in the works than why the hell didn't the drivers serve stop-gos in the race, why do they always make the race such a joke when it's already finished.

Valencia was supposed to be such a beautiful weekend and could have been a wonderful race with Vettel, Mclaren and Ferrari but crappy driving and the stewards just butchered it!

9 drivers have now received 5 second penalties...!

So - order pretty much as you were.

Fairness...? Mmmmmm - as fair as Lampard's goal being dis-allowed.

However, if Hammy hadn't have hesitated, he would have been past the Safety Car BEFORE the Safety Car line, and so wouldn't have, er "cheated"...

As it was, Hammy, er "cheated" and so got a Drive Through penalty - which incidentally is a load more severe than the 5 second penalties that were meted-out later.

My view on this subject: Hammy entered the Pit Straight after the last corner, and ALL of the circuit-wide LED Panels were already flashing "Yellow" and "Safety Car". Hammy and Mac perhaps didn't have time to decide to pit at this time..?
BUT Nando was 3 to 4 car lengths behind Hammy at this point. And Massa was WAY further back. If Ferrari had been on the ball, they would have boxed both Nando AND Massa at that point, one lap BEFORE Hammy.
Ferrari didn't.
Ergo, that's where the Ferrari game-plan got trashed - not Hammy's fault, but Ferrari's fault.

If anyone should pissed it should be Webber, and M$. Kovi break checked Webber, and M$ was screwed by the pit light.

IMO if that many drivers had incidents regarding the Safety Car, the SC rules are no where near clear enough. I personally do not understand them.

At first seeing the replay of Hammy, I was like "what a cheater." Cause I hate him. But looking at it again, I think he was just as confused as everyone else as to what he was supposed to do.

I'm calmer today...had a chance to cool off a bit. I still think that Ferrari is right to be enraged. Stefano (god I love him) made a fantastic statement about not getting too emotional but still addressing what a serious situation it was.

For me it's still very black and white, Hamilton broke the rules whether intentional or not, he violated a safety rule which should be serious. In addition to this, he was allowed to keep circulating while the stewards hummed and hahed about what to do with him thus making their eventual penalty pointless and even detrimental to the excitment of the race. I think Ferrari (quite rightly) is pissed because we played fair and it cost us. To all those who don't agree ask yourself what you would think had Fernando pulled a stunt like that. I'm not going to sit here and act all high and mightly and pretend that Ferrari has never done anything questionable but that doesn't mean that I'm going to accept this from Hamilton 'confused' or not.

What's done is done, I'm not going to dwell on it. The team has to move on quickly and I think they will use this as a motivational drive. While there's still a mathematical chance, they will fight.

Dani, don't get me wrong, I thought the whole thing was BS, including how it put MS at the back of the grid.

I was extremely unhappy when I saw how it shook out after the SC (I don't think I get as upset as you, although I did let out a scream when Webber hit Kovvi), but I agree that what happened and the penalties given out don't reflect the serious nature of not following SC rules, whether or not anyone understands what they are.

Of course everyone would have been enraged had Ferrari benefitted from the situation. Remember the outcry when MS' punishment was delayed at Silverstone in 1998 to the point where it was beneficial for him to serve his pit stop penalty at the last lap when he crossed the finish line and effectively won it in the pits. I bet Montezemolo was quite happy then, just as the many Ferrari fans. Well, payback is a bitch.

Dani.

Ferrari's vile history of rule breaking under Brawn/M$/Toad, is legendary, but what is your take the Ferrari wheel covers this season, a breach of the rules, or a deliberate attempt to bend the rules (for the whole season) knowing other teams cannot use the same rule bending device for the entire season. Whichever way you look at it, it is definitely not "in the spirit of fair racing".

As for Webber, dramatic shunt, but he has always be useless at passing, so no surprise that he hit the back of Kovalainen.

Danny Boy- If the FIA doesn't like it, they should clarify the rules...LOL! I'm kidding :p Here's the thing, like I said I'm not going to pretend Ferrari is completely innocent. My glasses are tinted red, they aren't completely blacked out! Everyone tries to find loopholes in the rules to try to make them work better and gain an advantage...loopholes are one thing, deliberate breaching of the rules in dramatic fashion is quite another. (I'm not loosing sleep over Ferrari's recent promotional filming at Fiorano for example.) Just my opinion.
