WOW!
First of all congrats to Mclaren, it's good to see them win one. I felt bad for Vettel, but not THAT bad!lol! I was very very proud of Ferrari today. When I saw Alonso's pace compared to Flippy's I was worried, so much potential for disaster. There was no way around it I thought it was a train wreck waiting to happen and I held my breathe because it quickly became a test. I trust them, but I almost wouldn't have blamed them if they had orchestrated a way for Alonso to come through so he could get more points. It never happened though, lap after lap I watched as the cars held position. I'm proud of the team and I know that they will be blasted in the Italian media tomorrow because yes we could have come 2nd, but I think it was worth it! Now I don't want to hear about a Flippy button again!!! OK?!LOL!

Re: WOW!
Did you hear the talk with his pit crew when they told him Lewis was catching him at a second a lap!! he said "don't tell me, don't tell me".
To be fair, your position flattered you, Lewis, who was much faster at the time, was taken out by the useless Webber, Rosberg should have been higher, and, as you said, Vettle would have won.
I thought the highlight was the superb passing manoeuvre, by the rain-master, on Algersuari, it only took him 45 laps, a true champion driving at his limit

Re: WOW!
Sounds like it was a good race. I enjoyed watching race 1 from Portimao on the other hand, which was not bad, although I hope race 2 is better...

Re: WOW!
Vettel has 12 points, I was thinking the same thing about the 0 points.
Lewis made a fool out of himself attacking his team over the radio, and later in an interview.

Re: WOW!
Attack? LOL.
He asked why he had a second pitstop. Pretty valid question if you ask me since the team threw away a guaranteed podium.

Valid after the race, in private, not over the radio for the world to hear.

Re: WOW!
I completely disagree. Lewis very succinctly sent a message to the team and the world that he was unhappy with the strategic screwup. Job done.

That is how I viewed it. It is OK to ask questions in a private debrief, but in public over the air is just bad form. A major rule of sports is to never out a teammate in public, unless there are major issues.

So Lewis is not really a team player. No big deal, but it is good to be clear about these things.

A few weeks ago English telivision interviewed both Lewis and Button, when asked if they could not win the WDC who would they like to win.
Button said, if I don't win, I don't care who wins it;
Lewis said, if I don't win then I would like Button to win, because it is good for the team.
Button was pressed on his answer, but was adamant on it, he was only wants to win for himself.
Never a great fan of button, dresses like a prat, and looked like one when he is unshaven or has that stupid wispy beard.

Re: WOW!
I just don't like Hamilton.
Also, I didn't understand, when Hamilton passed Massa and hit his RR, the Speed crew blamed Massa. Can someone tell me what he did wrong, cause I didn't get it.
I was waiting for Alonso to have a hissy fit being behind Flippy, but was happy it didn't come.

I don't really put much value in whatever drivers say during interviews. It is easy to say the right thing in front of a camera.

That's an awfully big leap for a scientist to make on one flimsy piece of evidence!

Maybe if Felipe wasn't weaving all over the track all the time...............
Alonso must be a team player and had his hissy fit in private.

Re: WOW!
I agree with Pabs on Lewis- he was throwing a mid-race hissy fit and his true colours sure came out! He's not a team player and he thinks he's so wonderful that sooner or later he will probably start talking about hismelf in third person. LOL!
As for Alonso I don't care if he's throwing a hissy fit in front of his mirror at night before he goes to sleep just as long as he doesn't do it in front of the team and the world's media. So far he is behaving, but it is only race two.

Re: WOW!
I have to say that between a person who is a perfect teamplayer in front of the camera thanking the cleaning lady but who cheats whenever possible and a person who happens to get pissed off in front of the cameras criticising his team, I prefer the second. It is human to get pissed off, especially in such intense sports as F1.
If a team screws up, why not criticise them? If a driver screws up, he sure as hell will be criticised.

Re: WOW!
I am not sure I know where Lewis qualifies, Henrik.
Ron Dennis' departure from the team had everything to do with Lewis, and then the whole Liegate thing (going back to the cheating issue).
My opinion of him has changed over the years. I still think he's a superb driver, one of my favorites, but I see him as someone who will do whatever is necessary to benefit himself first. That's pretty much the common trend with most drivers, IMO, but I don't think it benefits anybody to have the driver criticize the team mid-race. Goes to show his mind was not in pushing the car but in the mistake that had been made 30 laps before. That's not going to help you win the race or overtake the care in front of you. So again, just shut up and do you job.

Re: WOW!
I am with Pabs on this...
St.Lewis is just another fuckin' diva, a la Alonso....
...but then again, that's what it takes to win...
But Divas are no fun....
I'd much rather watch kamikaze clowns high on gasoline fumes, a la Montoya, Tracy or Webbo...

He was driving over a second a lap quicker than all 3 drivers (including his team mate) who were in front of him, until he caught them up, overtaking is all but impossible in today's F1, but he did try (fairly and without recklessness) maybe he would have got past if it were not for the pathetic excuse of a driver Webber. He also went from 11th to 4th, so, tell me, what more do you want him to do.

1. Ron's departure had everything to do with Max!
2. Lewis was trying to be a good team player after the team had totally screwed up and cost Lewis another podium.
3. Is this how you live your life, especially when you know the team/business screwed up again? If so I wouldn't want to live in your free-speechless world.

Indeed it is. Massa and Alonso are all buddy-smiley on TV but according to a rumor, they are at each other's throat in private. Don't know if it is true but as the season unravels we should find out.
