Bahrain Prediction Thread
1) I predict that this will probably be the last race prediction thread that I will author this season.
2) I predict that others will actually predict the out come of the Bahrain Grand-Prix.
3) I predict that there will be photos of many pretty girls in Bahrain and I will probably look at a few.
4) I predict that Dani will be rooting for the reds specifically her little Massa.
5) I predict that Angie and I will be rooting for a certain irascible, verging on brilliant albeit questionably ethical certain helmet head.
6) I predict that this will be my last prediction for Bahrain.
Thank-you all for your patience and kindness

Re: Bahrain Prediction Thread
I predict
-Redbull victory number 1.
-No fuel stops make a even duller race.
-Pit stops accidents due to speed of execution (less then 3 seconds)
-Barrichelo crying if he makes it anywhere near the top.

I predict my head will explode if I have to decide whether to root for MS or my little Flippy.
I also predict I will have no clue as to who's who for the first 3 races of the season at least. I feel so out of it.

Yes, the choice between puppy cuteness and absolute evil was always a dire one !!

ROFL at Srrh...puppies, geeze.
Trixie, pay them nomind...M$ is F1, and it's OK to pull for the evil Sata...er, uhhh...I mean the great One! ;-)
Welcome to the dark side...
g-man, jst where in the wide world of the internet universe, do you get these pics??? ROFL, I can't believe you've hacked into the M$U photolab...damned our security. Someone will be fired for this...heads will roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, and as for predictions:
On the record (if anyone from M$U is actually reading these): I have to claim that the Michael $chumacher will of course win. Period. As for any other predictions, does it really matter??? I mean the world only cares about whom won!
Off the record (my real thoughts): I think M$ has a great shot at a podium. Stretegy will be real key. I think they should have time to actually change set ups during these three second pits, so look for anything crazy...starting off with full fuel loads, car set up for heavey load, run out for a big lead, then bring car in for tyres and change settings as much as possible to accomodate the lessening weight...this could be fun to see how they attack this.
Either way, I would think those with old school experience should have an advantage, which again points to Schu, thus he should get at least a podium finish if the car holds out.
Would LOVE to see Red Bull join Schu on the podium!
And for Henrik's sake, a Japanese pilot to finish out the podium...
...now that should be crazy.
Regards,
RacerX

Re: Bahrain Prediction Thread
I predict that the return to the Shamu forum of El Sid will be more important and exciting than the Bahrain GP.
I predict that I will watch the race on a crappy, low resolution internet feed from a country whose language I don't understand.
I predict that Jensen Button will beat Lewis Hamilton.

A McLaren 1, 2, followed by a Williams then a Torra Rossa.
If you drive on the roads here, you would hardly know there is an F1 going on.
I feel sorry for any poor sod coming out here, they will get ripped off from the minute they step off the plane.
Our local pub has given us (well we had to pay) pre-paid vouchers for drinks, so we won't have to pay the 100% increase on the drinks over the next 5 days.

Sid? Where?
I would not underestimate Brawn. He has proven many times to be a strategic genius.
And Massa needs to bury Alonso. It would be good to see Button beat Hamilton, but i"d give an edge to Ham in identical cars.

I predict I will watch the race only for yaya's. Not that I care too much anymore.
Then I will walk out into the woods of New Hampshire and have a smoke.

I'm with Henrick, two wheel is much better racing. In all respects.

How liberal is the policy re: drinking over there? Any truth that Saudis drive up on weekends to get totally wasted and then cause a lot of car accidents on the way back?Danny Boy wrote:A McLaren 1, 2, followed by a Williams then a Torra Rossa.

They cause enough accidents without drinking, but yes, there are drink related accidents, but relatively few, although those that do happen can be quite spectacular..
Drink is freely available in Bars and Restaurants, and can be bought in Liquor shops

From ESPN, formerly F1 live- "Karun Chandhok will start the race despite not taking part in any of the free practice sessions. He completed his first laps in the HRT F1 car and set a time of 2:04.904. "
The pinnacle of motorsport, lol.

Highly overrated, sounds, good as long as you don't have to actually live in New Hampshire.

Re: Bahrain Prediction Thread
Well, I'm no technical strategy guru, but I did find it interesting that Buemi qualified 10th but was the only one on the hard tires.
So, at the start of the race with everyone all heavy with fuel and on the softs they will wear them fast and need to pit early, correct?
Buemi will be able to stay out much longer and then go to the softs when he is lighter and can benefit from them more.
Genius strategy, or am I missing something?

Re: Bahrain Prediction Thread
So, when I look at the Q3 times I have to think that to some extent both Mercedes and McLaren decided race tires are more important than pole position.
I didn't watch, but Vettel's and the Ferrari times are so far out front that I think there's a gamble for strategy there. And that gamble is a split in the Red Bull Racing pit too.
Oh well, we'll see.

The aero-bladder in Jenson's Mac will "develop" a hole, and stop him from getting the straight line speed he needs.

Re: Bahrain Prediction Thread
Well, that was a monumental non-event.
The question "Will the new regulations increase the on-track action?" has been answered: No.
Shame about Vettel's problems, and even more of a shame that Alonso won. I do not like him driving a Ferrari. Massa just doesn't have the egocentric killer instinct that is necessary and I think this race shows it.
This the a bad year for me as a Ferrari fan.

Re: Bahrain Prediction Thread
A one two without any cheating or bending of rules, I should think it was a vary good day for Ferrari, well done to them.
Fair play to Massa as well, did well to come back from that accident and drive like he did in qualifying and the race.
I bet Dani's boyfriend will get a good night, she must be very happy.

Re: Bahrain Prediction Thread
THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME! I'm going nuts! :-D
This whole weekend has been a dream start for us! I couldn't have planned it better! Everything was amazing, I can't stop raving about how proud I am of Ferrari! Today I saw the Ferrari I always knew they could be. :-D The car was amazing, Flippy did great and Fernando did not talk about himself once in that post race interview! Not once, and boy they really tried to make it all about him but he wouldn't let them! Stefano on the podium...ABSOLUTELY. He never gave up on them, not all of last year when the whole world was putting them down, he never sacraficed any of them! This is what happens when you have a team that has Ferrari's interests in mind and not a drivers!
I hope Schummi took it in, I hope he now understands...he is a great driver, but most of his championships would have been impossable without this team. This team is greater than any one person!
This is the Ferrari I always hoped they would be! I am so proud! A very VERY special win!
