I hear it's pretty bad, and the long term job market there does not make it seem there would be someone to sell it to in the future. But I'm no realtor,I wou;ldn't do it if it was my money.

If you're looking to buy a few homes to give away to poor people, then it's a great place to start!

On the other hand, if you're actually looking at this as an investment, then I'd have to call you a capitalist, and warn you that the state of Michigan is the LAST (OK, second to last) state to try and make money. 50 years of unchallenged democratic party rule have led to the ruin of that once great state.

You could definitely find better things to invest in...easily!

VERY VERY BAD!!!!!

My son's g/f came here from the Detroit area. I have friends up that way. It is truly a cesspool and probably one of the hardest hit areas in the country right now.

If you are really serious about it, and you're talking about suburbs of Detroit, let me know which ones and I can ask some friends from that area. There are a lot of people from my car club who live in the general area.

The link seems to be the actual city of Detroit. Honestly, I think it's gonna take a long time for that place to recover.

Trixie (and others) thanks for the info, I was just thinking of sitting on a few as they were so cheap.

You can check out the "No Reserve" auction, worth a look;

You can't buy land and never go there. The US has a few odd laws making people visit the land every so often.
