Last Weekend
Given that the old whale seems to have croaked, I was not able to post my views and comments from last week's races. And, boy was there some things to say!!!
To start, we almost had a miracle in the 250 race. Good old Ralf Waldman was there replacing an injured rider, and if his tire gamble had worked, he could actually have won the race. No matter, it was fun to watch.
For once, the MotoGP race was probably the most interesting. Conditions were difficult, and Ducati really blew their chances with a crazy gamble. It reminded me off Williams (I think) lining up with slicks on a wet Monaco start, but the opposite! Obviously their rain tires would not last, and it was no surprise to see them lapped after 10 or so laps.
Up front it got interesting as riders tried to up the pace gradually. The thing was, you had to keep away from the white lines! First Elias tried to launch himself in to space, and luckily was not hurt in the attempt. Then Lorenzo, who was riding brilliantly up until then, just nudged the white line with the front tire as he was braking, and he was out. It seemed Rossi had it in the bag, until he too made a mistake, giving the rac to Dovi. It did look like De Puniet and Edwards might have something to say about this in the end, but Dovi got his first win! Great stuff! Oh, and Rossi still managed 5th, passing Colin's teammate JT in the process, even after having fallen. I guess JT will not be in MotoGP next year.
Then there was the WSBK. I love Brno almost as much as Biaggi does, and was looking forward to a great race. Unfortunately Fabrizio had another idea, and he couldn't have helped the injured Haga more than he did taking himself and Spies out! I suppose this did have the fortunate result of giving the race to Aprilia and Biaggi, who would never have passed Spies otherwise (as we saw in race 2). One of the Beemers did well too, but Xaus really had a bad crash on his, probably ruling him out for the rest of the season.
Race 2 was less eventfull, even if it did look a bit tense between Max and Ben in the end. I just think Max is getting too long in the tooth to really go for it though, and just stayed in a safe second. Great result though!

Re: Last Weekend
MotoGP-
I loved the race....it was like a hollywood summer blockbuster. The ebb and flow. I heard Rossi's crash was staged by George Lucas.
I was really stoked for the podium....Dovi got to rub the poisen dwarfs nose in it. The Playboy bike made it up front....and Colin showed why he deserves another year. I really wonder where Colin will go next year.
Don't get me started on JT. I am a hater (H8R as it were...lol). I get so tired of the Brits cheering for the waste of a ride. Many have said JT has had problems getting over a pre-season crash. If that is true what a pussy. Jorge, Nicky, Stoner etc.... have had giant crashes and come right back...with injuries Jorge is more of a man on bike then JT. He needs to go.
WSBK-
Way to go Fabrizio....third time you punted someone this year.
Haga is all man. We heard via one of The Ben's friends that Haga san was pissed at Fab for taking out The Ben. Haga wants the Cahmpionship, but wants it clean. Good on you Nori!
The Ben is only a few months away from telling where he is going. No one we know is talking. Which is odd, and leads me to believe win or loose the SBK title The Ben will be at Tech 3, but I could be wrong.
Real bummer about about Reuben...I hate seeing crashes like those.

Yeah you mention JT suffering from a pre-season crash. How strong was Haga in his races?! As the Australians say...HTFU JT!

No shit Henrik!
How can they still be tipping this tool.
Lets count the ways.
1. sneaky like steals his team mates chief engineer
2. Can't get over a crash.
3. Gets beat by his team mate every freaking weekend.
4. Black flagged because he is a douche.
5. High fives all of Great Britain after getting 6th
Tech 3 need to punt this tosser, and put someone else on it for the rest of the season...someone who will race the damn bike as opposed to circulating the track after playing Piano.

It's not like the Brits don't have a number of good riders either! Hell, the WSBK is looking more and more like the BSB (that is, if you don't count the Ben).

Cal Crutchlow is impressing the hell out of me in SS. Sykes is getting on forum, Shakey needs a full factory spec Duc...he'd be even more of a handful with another 1000 revs and the MotoGP spec forks. Haslam has showed he is a force at times.
Now if we could just get Hopper up to speed and get Corser to fully sort the Bimmer....damn...best racing on the planet...ohhhh...and btw...for big bikes I think WSBK already is the best racing (125 and 250 motoGP is in a league of its own)

Re: Last Weekend
It makes no sense to me how or why he does it.
It makes even less sense now that most everyone else is doing it, but then again I am no Rossi, or pro racer.

Re: Last Weekend
I just like the way the rear tire is in the air.
The whole leg out thing though I don't like. It doesn't look good, and I always like things to look good. It's a bit like how Nicky Hayden will ride a super motard with his knee on the ground as opposed to the more common foot forward style. Nicky's way looks much better.

I couldn't agree more about Nicky....it's awe inspiring!
The rear wheel in the air is cool...always is. Rossi just looks so composed there...almost bored.
