The opening ceremony video should be somewhere....the Shamu's looked like they were swimming and blowing air as they swam under the floor which looked like the ocean. It looked frickin' real.

So, looking at the medal table this morning, I can see that Switzerland is leading it!! Okay, if you go the official site, they show the US in the lead, but that is due to the total number of medals being higher, but Switzerland still leads with 3 gold! You will not be seeing that for much longer...

Disgraceful conditions for the Ladies Downhill last night, Canadian official must hang their heads in shame and should never be allowed to hold a world ranking event again. Completely ruined it as a viewing spectacle puke puke

Safety on the Ladies Cross Country was not great either.

Vonn's German rival didn't even try after seeing those crashes. As for CC skiing, I have never seen someone crash off the course.

Are the 2014 winter games going to be in Aruba?

Or the Dubai sno bowl.

I don't have a problem with Canada, in fact I love the country and it's people, what is unacceptable is the risks the organisers took and their lack of preparation for the events., It is the present organisers that should be stripped of their accreditation to the Olympics, not the country.

One death due to incompetence with the planning, is one death too many.

And, other than the first men's downhill, the surface of the ski slopes is far from acceptable, And yes, I have skied at Whistler and know it can be icy, but the grooming was not acceptable. Nor was the saga of the zamboni breaking down and far to many other cock-ups.

That Zamboni breakdown is pure comedy. Each rink should have 2 just in case one breaks down, or to speed up the process. The best part was that they have to truck one in from Calgary! What, Canada didn't have a rink within 500miles that couldn't lend one out?

Haven't see anything about this Zamboni trouble, but I did see Canada almost lost it against Switzerland!! Went to penalty shots.

Let's see if Sweden can make it two hockey gold medals in a row...

The problem is bigger than televised. The US team is the youngest in the tourney, and minus the Superstars we all know about. Only 3 have olympic experience, none I think were alive for the 1980 games. Canada is stacked with superstars, and vets who got beat by a bunch of kids.

To make the situation worse is that the US beat Canada in the world juniors this year. Canada might be seeing the start where the US is producing better players. Time will tell, but the trend is starting.

Now canada is stuck playing germany and russia just to even get a shot of a medal.

Germany should be okay, but the big danger is that the German players have seen that Canada is not unbeatable. Switzerland almost got them, and so the Germans will be playing completely without holding back. Then Russia will be very dangerous.

I was amazed at how easily Sweden beat Finland 3-0.
